South Australia announced an update to its General Skilled Migration (GSM) program for the 2026–27 program year on 22nd October 2026. Eligible candidates living and working in South Australia whose current visas are due to expire by 31 January 2027 can now submit a Registration of Interest (ROI), subject to the applicable program requirements.
Offshore candidates do not need to submit an ROI. They can continue to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, and suitable candidates will be invited directly from their EOI.
Invitations will go to suitable candidates from both the onshore and offshore groups. Priority will be given to those working in these sectors:
- building and construction;
- defence;
- education;
- engineering;
- health;
- manufacturing.
High-ranking candidates in non-priority sectors may also be considered. All applicants must have a current EOI lodged in SkillSelect.
Candidates should review the eligible occupations for the 2026–27 program and confirm the requirements of the relevant migration stream before proceeding.
