Registered Migration Agents in their first year of practice are required by the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority to complete a Practice Ready Program (PRP) that equips them with the required competency to ensure a compliant and successful practice. The PRP Course must be completed in the 12 months before an application for repeat registration is submitted.
McKkr’s PRP Course is designed with experiential learning through interactive and intensive style of exercises to encompass the Occupational Competency Standards for Migration Agents. Topics are discussed in detail and participants are required to actively participate throughout the session. The course will have a capacity of 30 participants per session.
Course Delivery: The duration of the McKkr’s PRP course is 30 hours and is delivered face-to-face over 4 days from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
CPD Points: Successful completion of the course will award 10 CPD points required for reregistration in the profession. The course includes 10 PRP Activities. Each Activity is expected to have a learning time of 3 hours. It requires successful completion of all the Activities in addition to the competency based assessment tasks to be completed by participants in their own time to gain 10 CPD points. The Assessments are very practical and includes case studies, presentations, mock trials, class participation, group discussions and written tests. Please note that reporting of CPD Points to OMARA requires successful completion of the whole course and as such partial completion of the course does not provide any CPD points.
Learning outcomes are derived by careful mapping of performance criteria required for each element of various Occupational Competency Standards and the underpinning knowledge. The CPD Activities designed for the PRP course are:
Each Activity will require certain learning outcomes to be achieved and will be included in the course material to be provided upon registration.
